Culvert Slip Lining In Augusta Maine

With a plan, a team of pros on your side, a pipe and parts supplier with everything you need, and an accurate inventory of lead service lines created in time for the federal deadline, it’s time to start planning the replacement of outdated lead service lines.

Historically, replacing water service lines in the field has been a huge hassle: shut down a road, shut down the water, and dig a big trench to reveal the entire length of the pipe. This replacement approach contributes to traffic problems, property damage, and inconvenient water service interruption to entire streets at a time.

Team NCT has changed that old, outdated process and created a solution for faster, easier, more efficient service line replacement. This tool kit pulls the whole process together, allowing waterworks crews to replace old, dangerous lead lines with minimal digging.

The all-in-one kit prepares your team to replace lead service lines ¾” to 2” in diameter. It includes all the pieces needed to replace old service lines, and extra parts are available individually, so your team always has extras. For a great price, your waterworks utility gets a ready-to-use kit that minimizes excavation, reduces traffic delays and water shutoffs, and gets lead service lines out of the ground.

The process is straightforward. A lead service line is identified and scheduled for replacement using your municipality’s inventory. Depending upon the service line’s location, traffic control or personnel may be needed – or you may need only your crew, a backhoe or excavator, and the Service Line Puller Kit. Instead of excavating the entire line that’s scheduled for replacement, dig only the ends. Turn off the water supply, disconnect the supply lines at both ends and clean up the newly exposed service line ends.

The Service Line Puller Kit’s cable goes through the old service line. Attach the bullhead to the cable, and the new service line to the bullhead. On the other end, use the cable grab to secure the cable and attach the cable grab to your backhoe or excavator using NCT’s hammer lock and oval link. Using the backhoe, pull the cable, beginning to draw the new service line through the ground. When each pull reaches maximum draw, re-clamp the cable closer to the pipe and repeat the process, pulling and re-setting the cable grab until the new pipe is placed, and your crew is ready to fill in the dig sites.

Team NCT is committed to providing durable, high-quality solutions for the waterworks industry as part of the Team EJP family. With the Service Line Puller Kit as part of your water utility’s lead service line replacement plan, you’re already ahead of the game. These kits include almost everything needed to pull old lead service lines out and install safe, new, lead-free replacement lines at the same time. The only other components you need are a backhoe or similar heavy equipment for digging and pulling, and the personnel to manage each end of the service line.
