Soil Stabilization
GEOWEB provides exceptional soil stabilization in a number of different circumstances, and can be easily fastened down using Presto Geosystems' economical proprietary ATRA connection system. Originally designed for the Army Corps of Engineers over three decades ago, it also works very well to provide porous pavement stabilization, requiring less expensive infill and a smaller amount of base material, lowering the overall cost while addressing storm runoff concerns. Another option for this versatile material is slope and channel protection, withstanding velocities up to 30 feet per second, as well as reinforcing vegetative retaining walls.
Porous Pavement
GEOBLOCK is a great option to consider if you're creating an occasional parking or traffic area, such as overflow parking for a seasonal event. It's designed to prevent soil compaction in turf, allowing vehicles to pass on top of the grid without creating mudholes or potholes where the grass will no longer grow. Available in both medium- and heavy-duty designs, it can transfer and distribute the weight of a fully-loaded tractor trailer at 80,000 pounds. It has high resistance to shifting due to turning vehicle tires.
GEOPAVE is intended for more regular use, with an aggregate fill that is open graded. Because the grid system locks the aggregate in place, you don't have to worry about continuous grading or refilling processes in your lot, because the aggregate can't spread outside of the grid. It's designed to have superior strength and resistance to movement caused by turning vehicle tires. Because it requires less base, it lowers your overall installation costs while virtually eliminating maintenance costs. It also can serve as a storage vessel for runoff water, lowering your total storm water runoff.
Temporary Construction Mats
GEOTERRA is a mat intended for use over loose subsoils, helping protect the soil matrix while spreading out the load, making it easier for heavy equipment to pass without getting stuck or causing damage to fragile ecosystems. This makes it the perfect choice for areas that have been graded prior to construction, and eliminates the need to replace wooden construction mats, which will rot and degrade over time. They're also significantly lighter than wood construction mats, even compared to new wood mats that haven't absorbed any moisture yet. The mats can also be configured in a variety of ways, allowing you true flexibility in work site setup.
GEORUNNER is a better option if you need to get lightweight equipment into a protected area or are expecting regular pedestrian traffic in the area that could harm the soil matrix or turf grass growth. Because it's intended for use over turf, it's designed to prevent scouring effects that can cause soil erosion and provides a great alternative when reinforcement mats are insufficient to get the job done while still allowing lawn maintenance equipment to be driven on it without damage.
